The Rx.com Mod Team has created this Service Play sub-forum in order to supply an area for Rx Service Play Posters to expand upon their posting topics without creating a logjam in the main forum where the three principle threads are maintained..

Posters can track services here if they care to but we will need any trackers to do so in an accurate and civil manner. We did not create this area for posters to ridicule or bash any services..

You can also discuss who is hot and who is not. The general state of the pay for plays industry and any other subject or topic related to service plays.

You can also create individual threads about specific services and discuss them freely but civilly. Again bashing and abusive treatment of any services will not be tolerated.

Please remember, this forum is not here for regular posters who cap their own games to post ther daily plays. Please use our individual sport forums to post your plays. Professional cappers (those that sell plays) must remain in the Site Promotion Forum.

The Rx.com will not tolerate posters that post false records of any services they track. Please be truthful if you decide to track a particular service.

Lastly The Rx Moderators are appealing to you our everyday posters to report any promotional threads or posts that are made by services or individual touts. No links or contact information to an individual service will be allowed. Just the name of the service. Please report any threads or posts that are promotional attempts by services and touts to use this forum to promote themselves..

Posters can easily report a promotional post by using the triangular Report-a-Post Icon at the bottom left of all post boxes. The poster name of any poster who reports a post that is out of line will be kept strictly confidential.

I will leave this thread open for a month to take questions and do my best to answer them. I will check in daily but am off on Wednesday and Thursday.

I hope this additional Service Play Forum will satisfy those posters that would like to widen the scope of topics relating to service plays and the industry in general to have their own threads. Mods will be liberal as possible regarding topics but this forum was specifically created to allow you more freedom to express your ideas regarding service plays and related subject matter. No off topic threads will be allowed.

Thank you, wilheim

Boise State vs. Virginia Tech: What Bettors Need To Know

Boise State Broncos vs. Virginia Tech Hokies (Pick, 51)

The marquee matchup of college football’s first weekend and one of the most highly anticipated games of the season kicks off Labor Day night in Landover, MD.

The loser of Boise State-Virginia Tech is certainly eliminated from a chance at a national championship, while the winner will have few, if any, obstacles standing in its way to be included in the BCS title picture.

LINE MOVEMENT

The Broncos opened as 2.5-point favorites but early action on the Hokies moved the line down to as low as a pick, where it has remained for a few days.

Nearly 70 percent of the public has sided with the over, which is evident by the total steadily rising from 49.5.

SIGNIFICANT INJURIES

Both teams have a projected starting offensive lineman doubtful for the game. Boise State right tackle Garrett Pendergast has an injured ankle while left tackle Nick Becton of Virginia Tech is hampered with a toe injury.

EVEN MORE "SPECIAL"

Since coach Frank Beamer has been at Virginia Tech, his teams have been synonymous with excellent special teams play. Although, Beamer’s Hokies might have met their match come Monday night.

Boise State has arguably the best overall special teams unit in the country. Last season, Kyle Brotzman made 18 of 25 field goals and had almost a 44-yard punting average. Titus Young averaged 26.9 yards per kick return, taking two back for scores, while Chris ****** averaged 12.9 yards per punt return.

In what is perceived to be a close affair, the game’s winner could very well be decided by which team has the upper hand on special teams.

VULNERABLE VERSUS THE RUN

If the Broncos did have a weakness during its undefeated season a year ago, it was their vulnerability against particular running games. In 2009, Fresno State, Idaho, and Nevada combined to average 6.0 yards per rush and 257 rushing yards per game against Boise.

The Hokies may have college football’s best rushing attack, showcasing running backs Ryan Williams (1,655 rushing yards last season) and Darren Evans (1,265 yards in ’08) and dual-threat quarterback Tyrod Taylor.

“We probably haven’t seen this combination with a power-run game and an elusive quarterback…” said Bronco head coach Chris Petersen to the Washington Examiner.

KEY MATCHUP

It could be argued quarterback Kellen Moore has yet to have a sub-par performance in his 27 games at Boise State. If his collegiate career ended today, Moore’s passing rating would rank in college football’s top-10 of all time.

Moore will face a Virginia Tech defense that lost seven starters from 2009, including two defensive backs, but does return All-American candidate cornerback Rashad Carmichael.

“[The Hokies] might be one of the most impressive [teams] in how quickly they get to the ball and how they cover on defense,” Moore told The Times-News Online. “I think they are a very smart team that doesn’t screw up.”

Virginia Tech’s pass defense, like always, still should be solid, but it might not be in line with its past units, especially when facing a quarterback with the caliber of Moore.

TRENDS

This will be nearly a home game for Virginia Tech, where the Hokies have covered seven in a row as an underdog since 1992.

For most game situations, Boise State has been one of the nation’s best ATS teams over the last decade. Since 2000, the Broncos have covered 63 percent of their games overall, including going 27-19 ATS as an away favorite.

The under is 6-1 in Boise State’s last seven non-conference games and 5-2 in Virginia Tech’s last seven games overall.

Monday’s Streaking And Slumping Starting Pitchers

Streaking

Roy Oswalt (10-13, 3.01 ERA), Philadelphia Phillies

Turns out, Roy Oswalt isn’t really a consolation prize after all. Of course that’s what everyone thought when the Phillies acquired him at the trade deadline. You see, most people were second-guessing Philadelphia management for trading away Cliff Lee in the offseason only to need to trade for another ace by midseason.

Now Lee is struggling in Texas while Oswalt is flourishing in Philly. The Phillies are 6-0 in his last six starts and the under is 4-2 during the stretch.

Oddsmakers have set the total at 6.5 in each of his last two starts and for good reason. Oswalt owns a 1.02 ERA and a 0.88 WHIP (walks + hits per inning) over his last five outings.

Mat Latos (13-5, 2.25 ERA), San Diego Padres

The Padres are winning many of Latos’ starts these days but that’s not the youngster’s fault. The 6-foot-6 righty has allowed two or less runs in a ridiculous 14 straight starts. San Diego is just 2-4 in his last six appearances but the under is 5-1-1 in his last seven outings.

C.J. Wilson (14-5, 2.88 ERA), Texas Rangers
The support for C.J. Wilson’s Cy Young candidacy is swelling these days. Wilson is the straw that stirs the drink in Texas’ pitching staff. He’s carrying the load with Cliff Lee going through a rough spot.

Jennifer Floyd Engel of the Dallas Star-Telegram wrote a great column making the case for Wilson to win the AL Cy Young. Our favorite stat she listed was his 10 wins following a Rangers loss.

Texas is 9-0 in the southpaw’s last nine appearances and the 7-3 in his last 10 starts.

Struggling

Rodrigo Lopez (5-12, 5.24 ERA), Arizona Diamondbacks
Look, the whole year has been a struggle for his righty. He might be the worst starting pitcher on the worst team in baseball, so we know we’re not breaking any news here for astute bettors.

The thing is, there are a lot of really good hurlers heading to the mound tomorrow and we needed someone to fill the slumping spot. Lopez fits perfectly.
Arizona is 1-8 in Rodrigo’s last nine appearances and the former Oriole has been tagged for five or more runs in three of his last four outings.

Monday's Best MLB Bets

Chicago White Sox at Detroit Tigers (-125, 8)

We all know that Manny Ramirez is no angel. But he's starting to look like the White Sox's savior, or at least one heck of a good-luck charm.

Chicago was sleepwalking through the playoff race, going 7-13 over their last 20 before the White Sox claimed the controversial outfielder/designated hitter off waivers.

Manny has gone 4-for-11 since joining the ChiSox, who have rattled off six straight wins to get back in the race. He seems to have brought some swagger to a team that needed some.

"Manny did not come here to save this ballclub; he came here to make us better," manager Ozzie Guillen told reporters. "We have 25 guys and nine on the field. They all have to contribute for us to win games. If that happens to be Manny, good for us [but] we didn’t bring him here to be the savior, to be the guy."

Whatever the case, it's obvious they have a new shot of confidence after sweeping Ramirez's former team, the other Sox, in Boston on Sunday.

Chicago goes to Detroit with another player motivated by facing his ex-team - pitcher Edwin Jackson. He struck out 11 former teammates last month but took a no-decision.

But this time his new teammates are swinging the sticks, batting .304 against right-handers in their last 10 outings. Manny is batting .364 lifetime against Tigers righty Max Scherzer.

Pick: Chicago White Sox

St. Louis Cardinals at Milwaukee Brewers (-130, 8.5)

You can tell a team is struggling when bad news starts leaking out of the clubhouse. The Cardinals, who are 6-16 in their last 22, certainly qualify.

This weekend news broke that outfielder Colby Rasmus asked to be traded after getting berated by manager Tony LaRussa for being late to a July 24 game against the Cubs. La Russa not only confirmed it, he went a step further and said Rasmus also asked to be traded last season.

It may not sound like the spirit you want in a clubhouse, but sometimes you have to clear the air before you can move forward. With Sunday's win over the Reds, consider the Cards' clubhouse officially fumigated.

St. Louis starts right-hander Jake Westbrook, who is 1-3 since joining the Cardinals but has pitched well despite his record. He faces Yovani Gallardo, who is 0-4 lifetime against the Cards. Look for St. Louis to take their frustrations out on the Brew Crew.

Pick: SL Cardinals

CFL Betting Preview

CFL Preview: Toronto Argonauts at Hamilton Tiger-Cats

What's At Stake?

Local media have been chatting all week about how this is the first time in years that these teams have met for their Labor Day Classic when both are competitive.

That may lead to guffaws out West, but in the True Capital of Canada Where Everything Important Happens, it's a big deal.

A greatly improved Toronto Argonauts club comes into Monday afternoon's tilt at 5-3 after having won just three times in 2009.

They were annoyed with themselves for a 16-12 loss to Hamilton at home two weeks ago, and then steamed they had to wait through the bye week to get another shot at their heated rivals.

An Argos win would put them into a first-place tie with Montreal atop the CFL's Eastern Division.

The Tiger-Cats started poorly but have won their last three straight to sit at 4-4. Taking Toronto would put them into a tie for second with the Double Blue.

Both clubs also want to put more space between them and fourth-place Winnipeg, currently four points back of the Cats and six back of the Argos.

And beating Toronto would give Hamilton the season series between the two with one game left down the road, and that's the first tie-breaker at the end of the year.

Toronto running back Cory Boyd is a key for the Cats to stop. Hamilton's DeAndra' Cobb is back in form from the backfield.

Players To Watch

Hamilton

Arland Bruce III. Anytime these two teams play, all eyes are on the Hamilton receiver who came down the QEW last season after squaring off with then-Argo coach Bart Andrus. This year Bruce is leading the CFL in yards at 812 from 53 catches for a 15.3 average. If he scores on Monday, watch for a special celebration in the end zone.

Toronto

Lin-J Shell. The Argo defensive back was infuriated after being flagged and ejected for an alleged spit at Hamilton's Auggie Barrenechea late in the last game. Shell denies he did it, strongly backed up by his coach, and has been chomping at the bit for another chance at the Cats.

Game Day Quarterbacks

Toronto — Cleo Lemon (130-for-216, 1,675 yards, 7 touchdowns, 5 interceptions)

Hamilton — Kevin Glenn (184-for-280, 2,411 yards, 14 touchdowns, 7 interceptions)

Lemon continues to work his way through the learning curve of quarterbacking in the Canadian Football League. There hasn't been anything spectacular, but he has come up with five wins in eight games. Last time out, he threw for just 208 yards but also did not toss an interception. Confidence grows in each game.

Glenn came into this year with some people wondering, again, if he should be the backup in Hamilton, but no one says that anymore. He's third in league yardage and has a touchdown-to-interception ratio of an excellent 2-to-1. This is his team.

Last Match-up

Two weeks ago, these clubs produced more than 650 yards of offence, committed five key turnovers, drew 21 penalties, dropped passes all night and saw it come down to a DeAndra' Cobb's five-yard scamper with under four minutes to go as Hamilton won 16-12.

That last drive was set up by a Ryan Christian fumble on a kickoff.

The Kickoff

2:30 p.m. ET at a sold-out Ivor Wynne Stadium in Hamilton.
The numbers

Hamilton (4-4), Toronto (5-3). Hamilton is 118-85-4 in 208 all-time games with Toronto. In Labor Day games since 1950, the Cats lead the Argos 27-13-1

Injury Update

The Tiger-Cats are a healthy bunch, but right tackle Jason Jimenez likely won't play.

For Toronto, defensive line star Adriano Belli is still coming back from an ankle injury and did not practice this week, but he is on the active roster. Slotback Jeremaine Copeland is on the injury list.

CFL Preview: Edmonton Eskimos at Calgary Stampeders

What's At Stake?

This is about as close to a double-header as you get in football, with the Eskimos and Stampeders set to battle twice in five days.

Both teams have a ton to play for as they prepare for the 44th renewal of the Alberta Labor Day Classic on Monday.

Calgary sits at 7-1, now back to two points up on Saskatchewan following the Roughriders' victory over Winnipeg on Sunday.

Hosting the CFL Western final is what the second half of the season is all about for the Stamps, and a win means they control things nicely with the next scheduled meeting with the Riders set for Sept. 17.

A loss would let Saskatchewan back into the battle.

Edmonton had lived through a first half from hell, winning just once in seven games before pulling off a big 17-14 upset over Saskatchewan last week. Now the Esks are 2-6, tied with B.C. for third in the West, and a playoff spot is still possible.

Of course, also at stake are bragging rights. Losing to your provincial rival is never a happy thought.

Players To Watch

Calgary — Joffrey Reynolds. The running back is third overall this year with 621 yards from scrimmage. If he can put together a strong 135-yard day, he'll pass Kelvin Anderson and become the White Stallions' top runner all time.

Edmonton — Noel Prefontaine. The Eskimo kicker had 11 of his team's 17 points last week in the win over Saskatchewan, and he'll be relied on to provide more against a Calgary defense that's tough to score on.

Game Day Quarterbacks

Edmonton — Ricky Ray (147-of-220, 1,804 yards, 6 touchdowns, 6 interceptions)

Calgary — Henry Burris (183-of-281, 2,226 yards, 18 touchdowns, 12 interceptions)

Edmonton is in an interesting spot after discovering another option to Ray. Jared Zabransky isn't ready to run an offense regularly, but with his running ability he can bring a new look for a defense to handle.

Burris is doing fine in one regard, piling up the yards and the scores, but those 12 picks have people scratching their heads. Still, he has a lot of weapons. Burris needs just two yards to pass Dieter Brock for 10th on the CFL's all-time passing list.

Last Match-up

The Eskimos would have liked to forget about this one, but the media gleefully spent the week reminding them. Stamps crunched the Eskimos 56-15 on Aug. 15 and it was as bad as it looks.

Edmonton suffered four sacks, four turnovers and a lot of humiliation.

The Numbers

Calgary (7-1) is 4-0 against the West and 4-0 at home. Edmonton (2-6) is 2-3 against the West and 0-3 on the road.

The teams have met on Labor Day 44 times, with Edmonton leading 24-19-1, but Calgary has won three of the last four encounters.

The Kickoff

4 p.m. ET at McMahon Stadium in Calgary.

Monday's Best CFL Bets

Toronto Argonauts at Hamilton Tiger Cats (-4, 50)

The Argonauts come to Hamilton to avenge the loss they took from the Tiger Cats in Toronto. Under Jim Barker, the Argos are a far different team from last year. But are they as improved as the Tiger Cats, who have been gaining respect over the last few years to finally give their fans a team they can be truly proud of?

Ball carrier Cory Boyd, for the Argos, has been sensational since the start of the season but probably had his worst game of the year in the 16-12 loss to Hamilton. The Tiger Cats are riding a three-win streak. Despite all the hype surrounding the progress of Argos QB Cleo Lemon, we still doubt his true value as a consistent starter in the CFL.

It’s not the case for his counterpart Kevin Glenn of the Tiger Cats, who is now third in passing in the CFL. His success is linked with the resurrection of the Tiger Cats, who could, with another win against Toronto, claim the season’s series and maybe even a share of first place in the East providing the Alouettes stumble against the Lions.

Pick: Hamilton Tiger Cats

Edmonton Eskimos at Calgary Stampeders (-12.5, 54)

Eskimos head coach Richie Hall vows there’s no QB controversy in Edmonton despite the fact he pulled Ricky Ray to bring in young Jared Zabransky in a game where his team stole a surprising win against the mighty Roughriders. Don’t hold your breath. Ray is still No. 1 on the Eskimos depth chart.

Mind you, the Eskimos have other worries starting with the health of kick returner Kelly Campbell, who has been seen in crutches earlier this week at practice. Defensive back Saleem Borhot also looks injured. Those ailments are bad news for a team that was slaughtered 56-16 by these Stampeders two weeks ago - a humiliation that ended in a brawl that got five players fined by the commissioner.

The Stampeders look like they’re back on track and the return of Ken-Yon Rambo, who gained 108 yards last week against the Lions, only makes them more dangerous. Calgary is off to its best start since 1996. Some will say that anything can happen in the Battle of Alberta, but unless the Stampeders players invent ways to lose, it’s tough to imagine the Eskimos pulling off another upset this week.

Pick: Calgary Stampeders

Boise State at Virginia Tech: Boise State opened as a 2.5-point favorite but this one is down to a pick' em. Total has dipped from 53 at opening but now at 51.

White Sox at Tigers: Total opened at 8 but has slipped to 7.5 at some books.

Weather To Watch

Astros at Cubs: Wind blowing out to left/center field at 20 mph.

Who's Hot

Astros are 9-1 in their last 10 on the road.

Yankees have won eight of their last nine.

Phillies are 8-2 in their last 10.

White Sox have won six in a row.

Twins are 5-1 in their last six.

Who's Not

Cardinals are 6-16 in their last 22.

Reds are 5-17 in last 22 vs, Rockies.

Giants are 3-7 in last 10 on the road.

Red Sox are 1-6 in their last seven vs. Rays.

Padres have lost 10 in a row.

Key Stat

.536 - Colorado Rockies slugger Carlos Gonzalez's batting average over the past seven games. He also had nine RBIs and four home runs during that stretch.

Injury That Shouldn't Be Overlooked

Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman Mark Reynolds is listed as day-to-day with a swollen right hand. Reynolds left Sunday's game after aggravating a bone bruise near his wrist. He went 0-for-4 Sunday to drop his season average to .212, but has 32 home runs, 83 RBIs and has been a key contributer during the D-backs recent surge.

Game Of The Day

Boise State at Virginia Tech (Pick, 51)

Notable Quotable

"I don't feel like I'm a dirty racer. I feel like I'm a hard racer and an aggressive one. I wouldn't call it dirty. Dirty is when you run into the back of somebody down the back straightaway and put them in the fence."

NASCAR driver Kyle Busch responding to rival Todd Bodine calling him a "dirty" racer.

Tips And Notes

The injury bug is finally catching up with the Texas Rangers, who were swept by the Minnesota Twins on Sunday. All-Star outfielder Josh Hamilton injured ribs while running into the outfield wall Saturday and could be out for a week. The AL MVP candidate is batting .361 with 31 homers and 97 RBI. Also, pitcher Cliff Lee is being skipped in the rotation for his scheduled start on Tuesday for back stiffness. The Rangers have been overachieving all season, but how will they react without some key leaders?

The Houston Texans are now the "favorites" to sign free-agent quarterback Matt Leinart, who was released by the Arizona Cardinals last week, according to a report on ESPN.com. Leinart was rumored to be reuniting with former USC coach Pete Carroll and the Seattle Seahawks but there has been little movement. The Cincinnati Bengals also were believed to be in the mix but they claimed former Chicago Bears quarterback Dan LeFevour off waivers on Sunday after cutting J.T. O'Sullivan. Texans coach Gary Kubiak is said the be interested but he prefers athletic, mobile QBs and Leinart is considered to be neither. Stay tuned.

North Carolina's courageous comeback bid against LSU didn't stop the fallout from the NCAA investigation into the football program as associate head coach John Blake resigned Sunday. In a statement released by the school, Blake said he decided to leave the program because his presence "has become a distraction" to his family and the school. The NCAA probe is focusing on improper contact between players and sports agents. Blake's friendship with NFL agent Gary Wichard reportedly is being investigated. Among the players Blake recruited is senior defensive tackle Marvin Austin, who was among 13 players suspended for Saturday's clash with LSU.

TONY GEORGE

Boise State -1.5

Yes, VT is a beast at home, but they are not in Blacksburg, this is a neutral site. Boise States ENTIRE Season rests on this game. With a veteran offense and a great QB, they are the best offensive unit on the field, maybe in the country. VTs brand of defense is such that it helps them win games ugly, but bear in mind Boise States defense is solid with 10 returning starters and a unit that allowed just 17 ppg in 2009 and were third in the nation in forced turnovers, THE DEFENSE of BSU will be the difference, they will have more opportunities to score in this game which gives them the edge with the better offense. VT is 0-21 away from home SU against Top 5 teams. Play 1 Unit on Boise State.
